Located in the heart of Central Ohio, Illuminate USA is transforming solar panel manufacturing from our cutting-edge facility in Pataskala. As a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, we’ve rapidly grown to over 1,500 associates and are now fully operational in our 1.1 million-square-foot factory. The Benefits Specialist administers and supports the organization's employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave administration, and employee wellness initiatives. This role serves as a key resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, claims issues, and policy interpretation while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the administration of the employee benefit plan, retirement plan, leaves, unemployment, and workers compensation programs.
  • Collaborate with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related data.
  • Assists in the facilitation and administration of the annual open enrollment process, providing information to employees and assisting with plan selections.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding their benefits, addressing inquiries and providing information on available programs.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, ensuring company programs align with legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of employee benefits information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data security standards.
  • Assist employees in resolving benefits-related issues, including claims and discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analytics for the Total Rewards team.
  • Supports the organization's wellness initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 years' experience as a Benefits Specialist or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and maintain data security.
  • Knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to details and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and benefits administration software.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and startup environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.
