Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Benefits Specialist in our Human Resources team.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Part-Time Benefits Specialist to join our team. This position will play a key role in supporting our employees by answering benefits-related questions and assisting with administrative tasks.


Location: This position will be based out of our office in Miami, Florida or Charlotte, North Carolina. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long-lasting careers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Respond to Tier 1 level employee inquiries regarding benefits, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave policies, and other offerings.

• Provide clear and accurate information to employees, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

• Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, leave administration, and benefits communications.

• Support open enrollment processes, including scheduling, communication, and troubleshooting employee issues.

• Maintain accurate and organized records of benefits-related activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with the HR team on various benefits-related projects, audits, and process improvements.

• Perform other administrative duties or special projects as assigned.


What you’ll bring:

• 1-3 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, or a similar role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems is highly preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain benefits information clearly.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and work on various tasks as needed.
