The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration and ongoing support of the Company's employee benefit programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, wellness initiatives, and compliance activities. This role serves as a key resource for employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders by ensuring accurate benefit administration, resolving issues, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting open enrollment activities, and promoting employee engagement through effective benefits communication and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, disability, FMLA, COBRA, 401(k), and other related programs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and provide ongoing support regarding health and wellness programs.
  • Coordinate employee wellness initiatives, including vendor management, employee education, and outreach activities.
  • Support benefits communications and employee education efforts designed to increase engagement and awareness of available programs.
  • Assist with benefits-related projects, process improvements, program evaluations, research, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations through reporting, auditing, documentation, and monitoring of regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with external benefit providers to resolve issues, manage ongoing projects, and strengthen vendor relationships.
  • Resolve escalated employee benefit concerns and coordinate ad hoc requests with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage operational benefits administration activities including file feeds, enrollment discrepancies, billing reconciliation, rate reviews, reporting, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain benefit information, documents, resources, and links on the company intranet.
  • Support the annual review and evaluation of company benefit programs.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment activities, including vendor implementation, system testing, and employee communications.
Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in health and welfare benefits administration, retirement plan administration, and benefits compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; Paycom experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration and human resources best practices.
  • Understanding of U.S. benefits laws, compliance requirements, and regulatory processes.
  • Strong compliance knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and execution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in an evolving environment.
