Atlassian provides tools to help every team unleash their full potential.
The Role
Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
Atlassian is seeking an experienced Benefits professional to support and manage benefits programs across APAC, with a primary focus on New Zealand and South Korea. This fixed-term role will provide coverage for an existing team member on leave and will play a key part in delivering, optimising, and communicating benefits that are sustainable, compliant, and impactful for Atlassians in the region.
This individual contributor role is based in Australia and reports to the Team Lead for APAC and Global Benefit Programs. While the primary focus is managing benefit programs and policies for APAC (especially South Korea & New Zealand), the role may also extend to other countries in the region and include additional assigned tasks.
Your Impact
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
  • APAC Benefits Operations & Program Management
Support the day-to-day management of benefits programs (including leaves of absence) across APAC, with a focus on South Korea and New Zealand. Partner with local HR, Payroll, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of programs.
  • Renewals & Plan Changes
Support annual benefits renewals for APAC markets, including preparation of data, review of broker and vendor proposals, documentation of recommendations, and coordination of approvals and implementation.
  • APAC Market Analysis & Benchmarking
Participate in benefits surveys and conduct regular market analysis for APAC locations to help maintain competitive, market-aligned benefits while managing costs and ensuring sustainability.
  • Implementation of New / Enhanced Programs
Assist in the implementation of new or enhanced benefit programs and processes for APAC countries (such as supporting pension implementations, reviewing tax incentive plans in South Korea). Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors on set-up, testing, launch activities, and process documentation.
  • Compliance & Governance
Help ensure benefits programs comply with local APAC regulations and Atlassian policies. Support monitoring and reporting on costs, financial impact, and competitiveness of programs in the region.
  • Vendor & Broker Management
Partner with vendors and brokers in APAC to set clear service expectations, track performance, and support the resolution of issues. Escalate and collaborate with senior benefits colleagues as needed.
  • Employee Support & Query Management
Act as a Tier 2 / Tier 3 escalation point for employee benefits queries and exception requests in APAC, working closely with the People Support and Payroll teams to drive timely, high-quality resolutions.
  • Benefits Communication & Engagement
Support the planning and delivery of benefits communication campaigns in APAC to build understanding and engagement (e.g., annual renewals, enrolment windows, wellbeing initiatives, policy updates).
  • Project & Stakeholder Support
Contribute to APAC-focused and global benefits projects (e.g., new country launches, provider transitions, policy harmonisation, and wellbeing initiatives), providing regional insights and operational support.

Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in benefits, total rewards, or HR operations, with exposure to APAC markets.
  • Solid understanding of core benefits concepts such as insured benefits, retirement/superannuation, wellbeing, and leaves of absence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into recommendations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience contributing to or coordinating benefits programs or process changes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex or technical concepts for a broad audience.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and a consultative, partnership-oriented approach.
  • High level of personal integrity, strong sense of ownership, and comfort working in ambiguity and a fast-moving environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a distributed team and to collaborate effectively across time zones.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with Workday HRIS and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Familiarity with superannuation and leave legislation in Australia and New Zealand, and/or benefits regulations in other APAC markets.
  • Experience working with external benefits brokers, consultants, and vendors in APAC.
  • Confident presentation and facilitation skills (e.g., for benefits info sessions, webinars, or leadership updates).
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and leveraging technology or automation in benefits administration.
