Job Details:
Bellies are placed on conveyors to be injected with cure. Must keep the line fed with enough bellies to keep them end to end but any overlap must be less than the width of a normal fist or 4 inches. Watch for any bones or ribs left in bellies. Insert comb into the belly. Bellies are then picked up 2 at a time shoulder height to hang on trees. Trees are weighed on scale 4 at a time, weights are documented then pushed into a drip cooler. Loaded trees are placed in drip coolers until loaded in a smokehouse. Bellies weigh from 15-30 lbs. once injected.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing and able to rotate job positions per department schedule.
- Must be willing and able to work in other departments as needed according to production requirements.
- All non-discretionary positions will be awarded to the most senior Team Member by department first and then plantwide.
- Successful bidders will not be permitted to bid again for six (6) months unless promotion to a higher job is available.
- Most senior TM that meets requirement will be given a 2-week trial period.
- Must be willing and able to feed and operate the Derind Machines.
- Must be willing and able to use metal hooks and insert into bellies.
- Must Handle products according to USDA inspections.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be willing and able to stand for the entire shift (8 – 10 hours)
- Must be willing and able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be willing and able to lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Must be willing and able to work near moving mechanical parts.
