Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting the healthy development of children, youth, and families for a brighter future? Look no further! As a Behavior Consultant, you will provide intensive therapeutic services to children in home, community, or school settings. Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, you will lead the team, revise and update Individual Treatment Plans (ITP), and provide clinical direction for each child on your caseload.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership:

    • Coordinate the overall clinical direction of treatment for assigned children.

    • Serve as a resource in crisis and problem situations to develop and implement crisis plans.

  • Planning:

    • Conduct meetings to anticipate clinical needs and develop treatment plans based on psychiatric evaluations.

    • Complete functional behavioral assessments.

  • Monitoring:

    • Ensure treatment goals and interventions are appropriate.

    • Monitor and report on treatment progress, updating plans as needed.

    • Conduct classroom observations.

  • Direct Service:

    • Provide child-centered, strengths-based individual psychotherapy weekly.

    • Deliver all authorized services and billable case management.

  • Communication:

    • Maintain regular contact with families, schools, and other agencies regarding client progress.

    • Attend treatment team meetings, IEP meetings, and ITM meetings.

  • Documentation:

    • Document all therapy sessions, case management activities, and significant incidents promptly.

    • Create and update treatment plans based on assessments.

  • Networking:

    • Collaborate with schools, families, funding sources, and internal/external resources.

    • Work with the treatment team to refer families to appropriate services.

Qualifications


  • Education: Master’s Degree in a clinical mental health discipline and completed clinical or MH practicum. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or behavioral analysis certification is required.

  • Experience: At least one year of full-time paid experience in the mental health field. Familiarity with multiple child-serving systems.

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to walk up and down stairs, lift 20 lbs, and operate a computer, printer, calculator, and motor vehicle or access public transportation.
