Cornerstone Servicing is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Support Specialist to join our team in Englewood, CO! The Bankruptcy Support Specialist is responsible for supporting all activities related to the bankruptcy action in accordance with statutory compliance, regulatory compliance, and company guidelines. This position is responsible for supporting bankruptcy timelines and workflow processes on files in which a bankruptcy has been filed. These files should be managed in accordance with established work rules, goals and objectives to improve timeline and attorney’s performance. The candidate will be expected to establish/maintain a culture of team collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

 

  •  Location: Onsite in Englewood, CO
  •  Compensation: $55-65k

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop strong working relationships with both internal business partners and outside counsel
  • Responsible for servicing mortgage accounts to ensure the bankruptcy is processed in compliance with all state and federal laws while maintaining compliance with the Investor, Insurer, Agency and company guidelines. This includes the following:
    • Provide administrative support to the bankruptcy department and outside vendors
    • Supports attorney performance by reviewing all proceedings, records, and timeframes in addition to working all system/database activities throughout the bankruptcy process
    • Diligently follows up on all outstanding requests from internal and external partners
    • Access bankruptcy trustee websites to determine the status on payments to trustee
    • Audits all bankruptcy accounts for payment compliance and ensures proper application to system of record
    • Performs required research on any loan with questionable items such as the application of payments, proper bankruptcy notification, and any other situation that may arise
  • Ensuring timely action on reports geared to drive workflow
  • Follow departmental and business policies with strict adherence
  • Prioritize allocated work to ensure timely and accurate resolution to both external and internal partners
  • Perform other job-related duties and or special projects as assigned.

  

What you’ll need to be successful:

 

  • This position requires 0-2 years’ experience in Mortgage Servicing.
  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • GSE and Government experience preferred.
  • LoanSphere BK/FC experience preferred.
  • MSP experience preferred.
  • Requires extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion without parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted policies
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including ability to effectively coach, motivate, and lead staff
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
