Yahoo Mail Delivery Engineering: The Yahoo Mail Delivery Team develops and maintains high-performing systems that reliably deliver billions of messages a day to users and the Internet. The system requires extreme reliability, resilience and performance. It is a critical infrastructure that transfers messages across systems. The team works on problems that cover a wide spectrum - including web services, RFCs and networking layers.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with strong understanding of the fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, operating system(s) and networking

• 3+ years experience in software development with Golang, Java or C++ 

• Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS), Software as a service(SaaS) and Platform as a service(PaaS).

• Machine Learning knowledge with some hands on AI coding experience.

• Experience with public cloud technologies (GCP, AWS)

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes preferably in GCP

• Experience with designing and developing high performing and complex server applications on Unix

• Outstanding troubleshooting and debugging skills with performance tuning experience

• Great communicator, enjoys helping people, remains friendly and constructive under stress

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of network programming and client/server architecture

• Implement best practices for cloud security, scalability and performance optimization.

• Troubleshoot and debug cloud-based applications to ensure reliability and uptime.

• Professional experience with high availability/throughput distributed system

• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, HBase and Spark

• Experience with queuing and streaming technologies like Kafka or Apache Storm

• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL

• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl and or Ruby

• Knowledge of SCRUM and Agile Methodologies

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
