This job posting is for an existing, active vacancy and we are looking to hire a Backend Performance Testing Engineer.

Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Backend Performance Testing Engineer with strong expertise in performance testing tools, system diagnostics, and database validation to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency of backend systems under high load conditions.
Roles & Responsibilities :

• Test Execution: Design, script, and execute robust load, stress, and endurance tests using performance tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, K9).
• Diagnostics & Tracing: Utilize Dynatrace to monitor system health, profile PurePaths, and identify memory leaks or high latency areas.
• Database Optimization: Perform extensive backend testing by writing and executing strong SQL queries to validate data integrity, verify transactions, and check database bottlenecks under heavy traffic.
• Analytical Problem-Solving: Apply critical thinking to analyze test metrics (response times, throughput, CPU/memory usage), pinpoint root causes, and recommend optimizations.
• Environment Troubleshooting: Support infrastructure and test environments; investigate hardware and software constraints utilizing modern K9 (or Kubernetes) infrastructure tools.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Strong experience in backend performance testing using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, or K9
• Hands-on experience with Dynatrace for monitoring and diagnostics
• Proficiency in SQL with experience in database performance validation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret performance metrics

The pay range for this role is CAD 75,000- CAD 98,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
