Backend Engineer (F/M/*)

At amber, you'll work on a growing AI platform that helps companies make better use of their internal knowledge. With your Python and C/C++ skills, you'll help ensure that our systems run reliably and keep getting better.

You'll actively support the further development of our microservice architecture and work closely with the frontend, AI, and DevOps teams to implement new features and improve existing solutions. • You develop and optimize scalable backend services that allow our customers to work reliably and quickly with our AI-powered platform

• You connect new data sources via API and help make our amberAI smarter with every integration

• Together with our AI, frontend, and DevOps teams, you bring new features live — from idea to rollout

• You actively work on our microservice architecture, contribute suggestions, and further develop existing modules

• User experience and platform functionality are at the forefront of your code, followed by performance, modularity, and clean interfaces

• You consistently pay attention to security, data protection, and data quality in your work

• Your code flows directly into a production system that is in daily use, so you see your impact immediately

• You have experience developing scalable microservices and work routinely with REST APIs

• You work with Python daily, know the ecosystem stack, and use it productively

• You bring additional language know-how in C/C++. Other languages such as Go, Rust, or JavaScript are nice to have and can be used flexibly depending on the use case

• You are familiar with modular software architecture and have a good understanding of clean code and system design

• You are eager to keep developing yourself and try out new technologies hands-on

• You communicate confidently and reliably — in German and English — with various stakeholders

• Team offsites – Since you'll be working in an international team, we all meet twice a year somewhere in Europe
