Job Details
The individual is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, system patching, and general maintenance of our Microsoft Azure environment. This individual ensures system reliability, security, and compliance with organizational standards through patch management and Azure administration. The individual collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders across different time zones to support critical infrastructure projects, enhance security postures, and drive continuous improvement within the IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

• Manage and apply software patches and firmware updates to servers, network hardware, and Azure environments using tools such as RunDeck, TeamViewer, and Azure Update Manager.
• Schedule and execute after-hours ( relative to US time zone ) patching tasks to minimize disruption, coordinating with product owners across different time zones.
• Monitor and verify the successful application of patches and updates, ensuring system integrity and reliability.
• Develop and maintain patch management procedures and documentation to ensure consistent and efficient update processes.
• Manage and update Microsoft Azure environments, including configuring services and optimizing performance.
• Implement and enforce Cencora naming conventions, tagging policies, and subscription-level permissions to ensure consistency and manageability within Azure.
• Elevate and maintain the Azure security score by resolving issues, implementing security best practices, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
• Develop and set up automation processes within Azure to sustain ongoing compliance and enhance the security posture.
• Enhance and maintain Azure security postures by applying security best practices and compliance standards.
• Plan and implement automation strategies to streamline repetitive tasks and maintain compliance efficiently.
• Assist in designing and implementing fail-over systems and infrastructure redundancy to enhance system resilience and minimize customer disruption.
• Provide support for high-priority projects including VPN implementation, yard connectivity, and secure support options using Azure.
• Assist in designing and pricing fail-over systems and infrastructure redundancy to ensure system resilience.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams to architect and optimize the IT environment, improving communication and creating comprehensive documentation for system configurations and processes.
• Work closely with product owners and stakeholders across different time zones to ensure seamless operations and timely project completion.
• Provide Tier III support, investigating and troubleshooting technical issues, and recovering from hardware or software failures.
• Apply firmware updates to servers and network hardware for on-premise solutions as necessary.

Education and work experience:

• Continuous Improvement: Proactive approach to identifying system improvement opportunities and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Speak Effectively: Communicates clearly and effectively in both individual and group settings, ensuring message clarity and positive impact.
• Customer Service: Customer-oriented with the ability to establish effective working relationships and respond to customer needs promptly.

Skills and knowledge:

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure administration
• Proven experience with tools such as or similar to RunDeck, TeamViewer, and Azure Update Manager.
• Demonstrated experience in enhancing and maintaining security compliance within Azure.
• Previous involvement in high-priority infrastructure projects.
