About the Role
We are a technology-driven fintech company on a mission to transform how individuals and institutions manage their finances. As a Mid-Level AWS Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining secure, scalable, and compliant cloud infrastructure that powers our financial platforms. You’ll work at the intersection of cloud engineering, security, and DevOps to support high-availability systems that handle sensitive financial data and real-time transactions.
Key Responsibilities
· Staying up to date with industry best practices and innovation.
· Produce production quality application code that can be deployed within AWS services.
· Work with our team of product owners, architects, and developers to support project work and to update and release to QA/Production with software releases, configuration updates, and other release requirements.
· Take full ownership of problems, seeing challenges as opportunities for creative solutions and process improvements.
· Dive deep and identify failure patterns to resolve problems at their root.
· Provide high-performance cloud deployment solutions and maintain rapid deployment pipelines, server monitoring, and troubleshooting.
· Identify and implement best practices for securing various platforms.
· Work directly with the DevOps team to test system integrity.
· Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
· Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
· Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.
· Provide technical guidance and educate team members and co-workers on development and operations.
· Build, maintain and monitor configuration standards.
· Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.
· Manage our Continuous Deployment pipeline.
· Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
Technologies:
Our range of products hosted on our platform is a mix of Java Spring Boot and Microsoft .NET, fully automated from Development to Production, utilising AWS Cloud services along with third-party tooling to complement this offering.
· Design and implement AWS-native solutions (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, etc.)
· Write production-grade code, often in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Go
· EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Cloudfront, WAF, API Gateway, Lamdba, Elasticache, Elasticsearch, SQS, SNS, EKS
· CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub, Python)
Required Skills & Experience
o Computer Science/Engineering related Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree, or 5 years of equivalent work-related experience
o Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.)
o Solid understanding of microservices and API development.
o Solid understanding of Typescript/Javascript
o Working knowledge of AWS Step Functions, Lambdas and API Gateways.
o Working in an agile environment.
o A passion for continuous learning, as well as the ability to learn quickly and apply new skills.
o Good English written and spoken communication skills are a requirement of this role.
Preferred Qualifications
o SQL and NoSQL databases working set.
o Familiar with or able to quickly learn Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, KeyCloak, Serverless Computing, GraphQL, APIs, APIM.
o Good skills working with JSON, XML, and YAML files.
o Knowledge in Python, Java
o Experience working in a financially regulated environment.
o Working with clients / working in a client servicing environment
