AWS Cloud / DevOps Engineer

We are seeking experienced AWS Cloud Engineers, with strong familiarity in development methodologies and infrastructure automation, to join our well-respected Cloud & Infrastructure Team. This role will be dedicated to the support of a very large, well-known Australian institution, for whom your talents in innovation, embracing of new technologies, problem-solving and communication will allow you to influence your on-going deliverables.

Essential Job Functions

• Contribute to the timely delivery of Cloud Infrastructure & related solutions.
• Participate in Cloud Infrastructure implementation reviews.
• Help identify and resolve operational & project challenges.
• Collaborate with management on team objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be physically based in/around Melbourne, Australia.
• Must have 6+ years of overall experience of as Cloud engineer, preferably with 5+ in AWS.
• Must have 5+ years of experience in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Must have 3+ years of experience in Service Mesh (ISTIO or CONSUL).
• Strong experience in Linux administration & scripting.
• Exposure to Infrastructure tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong experience in CI/CD, preferably with Jenkins or Harness.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Groovy.
• Familiar with utilising GitHub for the aforementioned management & coding tools.
• Strong analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. 
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to assess and implement new technologies and processes.
• An open mindset and proven ability to innovate and influence. 
• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.

Other qualifications

• Exposure to DevOps & Agile.
• Exposure to Monitoring and Logging tools such as Splunk.

Work Environment

• Office-based.
• May require evening or weekend work.
