Job Description
Job Summary**
Responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) operations within the Wholesale Banking division, specifically focusing on Onboarding (OB) and Centralized functions, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Job Responsibilities**
* Support the Head of Wholesale AFC in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust AFC policies, procedures, and controls for the Wholesale Banking division, with a particular emphasis on client onboarding and centralized monitoring activities.
* Oversee and enhance the due diligence processes for new and existing wholesale clients, ensuring adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) standards.
* Manage and supervise the central AFC team responsible for transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and other centralized AFC operations for wholesale clients.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime risks associated with wholesale banking products, services, and client segments.
* Stay abreast of evolving AFC regulations, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime typologies to ensure the AFC framework remains effective and compliant.
* Collaborate with business units, legal, compliance, and other relevant stakeholders to provide expert advice and guidance on AFC matters.
* Prepare and present regular reports on AFC performance, risk assessments, and compliance status to senior management and relevant committees.
* Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries, audits, and internal reviews related to wholesale AFC.
* Provide training and guidance to junior staff on AFC policies, procedures, and systems.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives for AFC processes and systems within the wholesale division.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), Compliance, or Risk Management within the financial services industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role focusing on Wholesale Banking.
* In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, sanctions regimes, and financial crime typologies relevant to wholesale banking (e.g., corporate banking, trade finance, capital markets).
* Strong understanding of KYC/CDD requirements and client onboarding processes for complex corporate and institutional clients.
* Proven experience in managing or overseeing centralized AFC functions, including transaction monitoring and sanctions screening.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in AFC related systems and technologies.
