Dynamics of the Role
The AVP – ERM is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework. The role ensures effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key risks (strategic, operational, technology, information security, compliance, financial and reputation) in line with RBI regulatory expectations, Board-approved risk appetite, and internal governance standards.

• BU Risk Officers (1st line representatives) - Operations, Data Analytics, Solutions , Information Security, IT, Compliance, Legal and other support functions
• Internal Audit, External Auditors, Consultants
• Regulators and supervisory teams (through Head of ERM and CRO)
What You'll Bring:
Enterprise Risk Framework & Governance:
- Support implementation and maintenance of the ERM framework aligned with RBI directions applicable to CICs.
- Maintain the enterprise risk register, including risk taxonomy, risk statements, inherent and residual risk assessments.
- Facilitate periodic review of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and ensure alignment with business strategy.
- Coordinate risk governance forums including Board and management risk committees.
Risk Identification, Assessment & Monitoring:
- Conduct periodic Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) across business, technology, and support functions.
- Assess emerging risks arising from regulatory changes, DPI initiatives (e.g., ULI), technology, cyber threats, and market developments.
- Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) with defined thresholds and escalation triggers.
- Track risk remediation actions and validate closure effectiveness.
Regulatory, Audit & Compliance Support:
- Support responses to RBI inspections, internal audit, statutory audit, and external assurance reviews.
- Track audit observations, root causes, and management action plans; provide risk-based status reporting to senior management.
- Ensure ERM documentation and practices meet regulatory and supervisory expectations for CICs.
Risk Reporting & Management Communication:
- Prepare periodic risk reports and management information for CRO, MD & CEO, and Board/RMC.
- Ensure clear articulation of risk trends, breaches, and emerging risks with recommended management actions.
Impact You'll Make:
- Qualification: CA / MBA (Finance / Risk / Strategy) / CFA / FRM or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in ERM, risk management, governance roles within regulated financial services
- Prior experience in CICs, banks, NBFCs, fintech, or regulated technology-driven entities preferred
- Strong understanding of ERM frameworks and risk governance
- Knowledge of RBI regulatory environment applicable to CICs (preferred)
- Working knowledge of technology, cyber security, data privacy, and operational risks
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex risk issues into clear management and Board-level insights
