Position Overview:
The AVP of Post Closing is responsible for leading and mentoring the Post Closing Investor Suspense Department and overseeing the resolution of conditions for salability of agency eligible, jumbo, non-agency and non-QM and bond loans. This position oversees the suspended loan review and remediation process and makes decisions and recommendations for complex cases. The AVP of Post Closing is involved in department projects and identifying and implementing process improvements as needed. 
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle the day-to-day management of the Post Closing team including employee development and performance coaching.

  • Review loan disposition and ensure salability of collateral in the secondary market to include the review of original underwriting criteria within the LOS system and rework as necessary.

  • Proactively monitor investor posted turn times and follow up as necessary to ensure files are reviewed within their published timeline.

  • Provide guidance including but not limited to, formal written responses and rebuttals on complex deficiency corrections; monitor multiple reports and investor portals to ensure loans are diligently worked and proper communication is occurring with investors and internal departments.

  • Manage correspondence with Warehouse Banks and other internal departments.

  • Monitor daily investor reporting to identify loans that have been suspended for purchase and work with department leaders to ensure loans are purchased in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for adequate staffing of Post Closing team including identifying additional positions needed, acting as the hiring manger.

  • Handle higher level escalations and general questions from the Post Closing leadership to ensure the conditions and exceptions are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Act as subject matter expert for department by attending meetings with internal partners on new projects and process improvements; perform testing as needed.

  • Monitor time of loans on the warehouse lines and advise senior management of those at potential risk for curtailment from the warehouse.

  • Monitor quality reporting and trends as well as advise interdepartmental leadership on allocation of fees associated with incurable loan files.

  • Monitor LOS pipeline to ensure all loans shipped are either conditioned or purchased in a timely manner by avoiding late delivery or suspense fees.

  • Provide updates on the status of suspended and aged loans with Investors to Post Closing Senior Management as needed.

  • Ensure Post Closing Team meets set monthly purchased loan goals.

  • Ensure Investor guidelines are followed.

  • Ensure all department standard operating procedures are up to date.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a post-closing management role.

  • Minimum 5 years’ Non-Agency, Non-QM and Jumbo underwriting experience with exposure to both manual and automated underwriting environments.

  • Experience providing an extensive understanding of agency and investor guidelines and overlays.

  • Experience working with various loan programs and dealing with investor conditions and exceptions.

  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations.

  • Prior experience working in Encompass, a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to determine solutions and identify alternative resolutions within acceptable guidelines.

Pay Range:

  • Annual Salary: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00
  • The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
