Snowflake Platform Leader
We are searching for a Snowflake Platform Leader to take ownership of the team as well as strategy, direction and configuration of the platform. You will also manage costs while developing frameworks and guidelines for performance, security and efficiency. Additional responsibilities includde developing and tracking usage metrics, researching new technologies and enhancements on Snowflake including Cortex and other AI tools as well as run the Snowflake Community of Practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage the data products for various business domains and base data.
- Through detailed understanding of internals of Snowflake platform, develop insights into the cost and performance of the platform.
- Develop ways to minimize the cost of the platform without compromising the availability of data by the users.
- Understand the reasons for performance bottlenecks across the platforms and design for higher performance.
- Working with SMEs, develop and manage the semantic data layers across various domains, optimize for performance and cost, and make it available for various consumption mechanisms such as AI, BI, and self-service analytics.
- Research, determine the feasibility and implement new technology solutions in Snowflake for more effective business.
- Manage relationship with Snowflake as a provider of technology.
- Run the monthly Snowflake Community of Practice (CoP), a group of users across the company involved with the Snowflake platform.
- Project management: prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments.
- Support the sharing of knowledge and best practices across the enterprise
- Hire and retain world class talent to deliver Snowflake platform projects
Required Skills/Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Expertise in Snowflake management, internals, billing, query tuning.
- Experience as a Cortex user for query planning and semantic layer.
- Excellent communication skills for companywide communication.
- Nice to have: Insurance domain experience.
The base salary range for this position is $173000-$217,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
