Join the Equity Derivatives Trade Capture & Lifecycle technology development team in India, tasked with building and supporting the greenfield trade management platform for the global Equity Derivatives business. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with front office, operations, Product Owner team, and development team members to provide solutions that improve efficiency, decrease operational risk, and enable business expansion. You will have experience in building high-performing, scalable, and enterprise-grade applications while adopting best-in-class engineering practices. Role Overview
We are looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer (AVP Level) to work on several greenfield services within Equity Derivatives. We work in an Agile and DevOps manner, self-organize our work with BAs, speak directly with business users across the globe, and have good autonomy over technology decisions. We own the continuous delivery pipeline through to production and strive to release frequently into production.
Responsibilities
- Development, code review, pairing, testing, and maintenance of applications.
- Contribute in designing and implementing scalable applications and services with a solid focus on quality, continuous integration, and deployment.
- Write testable code following clean coding and SOLID design principles, following best engineering practices across the wider firm.
- Adapt to changes in priorities and requirements.
- Collaborate with teams to form a good working culture and continuously adapt to different working environments.
Desired Key Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Knowledge of JVM languages (Java / Kotlin / Scala) and RESTful web services, including data interchange formats such as XML, JSON, Avro.
- Familiarity with different persistent storage technologies involving both SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience working with Git source code management.
- Good understanding of clean coding and SOLID principles.
- Proficiency in code quality measurements using tools like Sonar.
- A team player comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity and problem-solving.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- University degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Equity Derivatives products & product lifecycle.
- Experience with UI frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience with OpenShift / Kubernetes or other cloud platforms.
- Experience working within an Agile (XP) environment.
- Experience with streaming technologies (Akka/Pekko/Flink).
