SUMMARY:
The AVP, Data Services will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's data architecture. This person will play a critical role in defining the data strategy, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data infrastructure to support the business's goals and objectives. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this person will lead efforts to create scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions.

This is a very technical and challenging leadership position requiring the ability to motivate, mentor, have clear communication, and work effectively in leading development teams along with senior management of all company functional organizations. Would be responsible to mentor and grow the knowledge base of the development and operations offshore teams along with direct reports onsite.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Data Strategy and Planning:
•    Develop and maintain the organization's data strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and define data architecture roadmaps.
•    Develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data and data solutions and become the subject matter expert on content, as well as current and potential future uses of data.
2.    Data Modeling:
•    Design and implement scalable and robust data models that meet the organization's needs.
•    Define and document data standards, naming conventions, and data dictionaries.
3.    Database Management and Azure Data Warehousing:
•    Oversee the selection and implementation of appropriate Azure data warehousing technologies (e.g., Azure Synapse, Data Fabric).
•    Ensure the performance, security, and availability of Azure data warehouses through proper design and optimization.
•    Design and implement strategies for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using Azure Data Factory.
4.    Data Integration:
•    Develop and implement data integration strategies to enable seamless flow of data across systems.
•    Collaborate with development teams to integrate data from various sources and ensure data consistency.
5.    Metadata Management:
•    Establish and maintain metadata repositories to track data lineage, quality, and usage.
•    Implement processes for metadata capture, storage, and retrieval.

6.    Data Governance and Security:
•    Define and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
•    Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
•    Create scalable data governance and data management best practice solutions that enable all business units to succeed with their use of data. 
7.    Performance Optimization:
•    Monitor and analyze data architecture performance, identifying areas for improvement.
•    Implement solutions to optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing.
8.    Collaboration and Communication:
•    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business units.
•    Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:  

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or any other S.T.E.M.-related major. 
•    10 years of related experience. 
•    Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role with a focus on data warehousing and Azure data services stack.
•    Strong knowledge of database management systems, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts, especially on the Azure cloud platform.
•    Very proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure data services and tools.
•    Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques.
•    Exposure to training LLM data models.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•    Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Experience in consumer finance industry 

COMPENSATION:

  • The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually, based on the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Experience of the selected candidate.

  • This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance guidelines.
