Job Overview

The AVP, Data Analytics & Reporting serves as the enterprise lead architect and developer for advanced Power BI reporting solutions. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex dashboards powered by live, multi‑system data sources. The AVP will serve as the resident expert in Power BI, Python, DAX, and modern data-integration tools while guiding junior analysts and ensuring scalable, high‑quality analytics delivery.

Responsibilities

Power BI Ownership

  • Serve as the primary developer and technical owner for all advanced Power BI dashboards.

  • Build complex data models leveraging DAX, Python integration, and query optimization.

  • Establish standards for BI development, governance, versioning, and deployment.

  • Drive innovation in visualization design, predictive modeling, and reporting automation.

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Connect, transform, and manage live multi‑system data sources including APIs, Jira connectors, SharePoint lists, SQL databases, and additional platforms.

  • Leverage modern AI tools to enhance dashboard functionality, automate data preparation, and advance reporting maturity.

  • Create pipelines and automated refresh strategies for high‑availability reporting.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve dataset performance, gateway, and connectivity issues.

Technical Leadership

  • Mentor junior analysts in Power BI, Python, and data modeling best practices.

  • Stay current on advancements in AI/ML features within Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, and related ecosystems.

  • Partner with stakeholders to refine requirements, validate data quality, and deliver impactful insights.

  • Provide escalation support for SharePoint, Jira‑to‑SharePoint integrations, and cross‑platform data ingestion.

  • Proactively identify blockers and develop creative, technically sound alternate solutions.

Analytics & Innovation

  • Utilize Python and tools such as Anaconda to support advanced analytics, cleansing, and custom transformations.

  • Drive innovation in visualization design, predictive modeling, and reporting automation.

  • Partner with business teams to refine requirements and improve insights delivery.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Collaborate closely with Technology, Product, and Business partners to ensure high‑quality, timely data.

  • Maintain clear documentation for all models, pipelines, and integrations.

  • Uphold data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or similar technical analytics roles.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, advanced modeling, and enterprise deployment.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating live data sources including APIs, SQL, SharePoint, and Jira.

  • Hands-on experience with Python skills for analytics, automation, and data transformation.

Preferences

  • Proven ability to lead technical problem‑solving and mentor junior analysts.

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud analytics platforms.

  • Familiarity with AI‑augmented analytics and Copilot capabilities.

  • Background in enterprise‑scale data governance and documentation practices.


 

Pay Range:

$112,399-$187,331/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
