Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within designated authority, following established standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership on claims matters both internally and externally.
  • Identify and investigate suspicious or fraudulent claims, taking appropriate actions and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Support the Line Manager in team management, including training, mentoring, and guidance for team members.
  • Manage customer and intermediary interactions efficiently and courteously to ensure high customer satisfaction, including handling feedback and complaints.
  • Coordinate with approved suppliers, vendors, legal counsel to ensure timely and appropriate services for customers.
  • Supervise and manage suppliers, vendor, legal counsel expenses and Third Party Claims Administrators.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support and deliver business strategy.
  • Promote claims services and support business development through meetings with clients and intermediaries.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews of claim files and monitor outstanding recoveries.
  • Prepare necessary reports and analyses.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities requirement

  • Relevant academic qualifications with 7–10 years’ claims experience; team management experience in the relevant line(s) of business is preferred.
  • Professional insurance qualification (ANZIIF, ACII) preferred or in progress; meets local mandatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to handle complex/legal cases independently with strong judgment, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Legal knowledge or training is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in claims process improvement.
  • Effective team player with ability to collaborate with senior management and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to select, hire, and evaluate legal counsel and experts.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and manage diverse claims responsibilities.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese (oral and written).
  • Proficient in relevant PC applications.
