The Role
We are seeking a technically adept AV Solutions Architect with strong communication skills to join our UK team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our customers by providing audio system designs, keeping abreast of new products and technologies, and where possible, assisting in consultative selling.
Responsibilities Include:
Technical Support & System Design:
- In conjunction with dedicated sales personnel, gather customer requirements and use cases to provide pre-sales technical support.
- Take responsibility for designing the systems that meet the client’s specific needs using the appropriate products and technologies.
- Develop proposals and accompanying BoMs to ensure that the correct products and quantities have been selected.
- Coordinate with the CAD department to produce GAs, M&Es, Elevations, and any relevant detail drawings required for the project. You will be responsible for generating Schematics and Rack layouts.
- Coordination with the Project Management team to ensure design intents are being met and carried out appropriately.
- Engage with other building trades and contractors to assist in smooth integration of systems.
- Manage any RFIs and CRs that occur during the life cycle of the project.
- Maintain accurate logs, files and be responsible for distribution of all information to relevant parties.
- Offer post-sales support to ensure successful implementation and assist with troubleshooting during service calls.
Products and Training:
Liaise with manufacturers and distributors in selecting the best products fit for purpose and acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the function, capabilities and limitations of each within a system design
Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and distributors.
Attend training sessions and workshops for integrators and consultants to ensure you are well-versed in the features, benefits, and applications of relevant product catalogues.
Investigate any new products and technologies that you feel may be useful in meeting current and future needs.
Required Skills and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience and industry training.
- 5+ years of experience in the commercial AV industry, with a background in system design and/or commissioning installations.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial AV products and systems, including experience with Audio, Video, Control and IT systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-friendly language.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience:
- Dante, CTS or other technical certifications
- AutoCAD drawing experience
- Experience with audio and video interfaces, standards and AVoIP technology a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite apps such as Word, Excel, and Visio.
