- Provide regular training and upskilling initiatives for staff as well as career development opportunities
- Knowledge of Ontario Fire codes, Fire suppression system and applicable health and safety regulations
- Monitor budget for automation projects and allocate resources appropriately
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of automation projects and work orders and manage project timelines, risks, and resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functioning teams, including IT, engineering, and operations and define project requirements, objectives and deliverables
- Collaborating with maintenance department to facilitate facility layout of automation cells, work orders and troubleshooting.
- Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of new automation cells, ensuring alignment with production goals, operational and health and health and safety requirements.
- Coordinate efforts to identify, develop and implement process improvement opportunities to drive operational efficiency, waste reduction, and enhance productivity.
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Journeyperson trade certification in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of five years in a maintenance machining environment and two years working in a leadership role.
- Establish and maintenance shift priorities and schedules
- Ability to work independently and foster a positive team environment
- Develop and monitor operating and project budgets
- Knowledge of all applicable Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain continuous learning of new technologies, new information and regulatory changes within industry.
- Usage and knowledge of failure analysis and diagnosis
