Your Role: Own the Challenge
As Sales and Marketing Manager for Energy Industries, you will lead the commercial strategy for one of ABB's key growth businesses in Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth, expanding ABB's footprint across emerging energy markets, and positioning ABB as the preferred partner for automation, electrification, and digital solutions.
You will work closely with major customers across Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Water & Wastewater, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and New Energies, while leading a high-performing sales team focused on achieving ambitious growth objectives.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries Division in Mexico. The position will report to the Local Division Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy for ABB Energy Industries in Mexico, driving profitable growth and achieving annual business targets.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities across Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Water & Wastewater, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, LNG, and New Energy markets.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key customers, including PEMEX, CFE, International Oil Companies, EPC contractors, private energy companies, and industrial end users, applying a consultative selling approach to deliver customer value and long-term partnerships.
- Lead and develop the local Sales and Marketing team, setting clear objectives, driving performance, and promoting commercial excellence through value-based selling practices.
- Collaborate with local, regional, and global stakeholders to deliver integrated automation, electrification, and digital solutions that address customer challenges and business needs.
- Drive commercial excellence through pipeline management, sales forecasting, pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and the delivery of competitive proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Commercial Management is highly desirable.
- 8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or marketing within industrial automation (DCS, SCADA, energy management, digital solutions, etc.), energy, process industries, or related sectors.
- Proven experience with consultative selling, solution selling, and complex project environments.
- Proven track record of managing strategic industrial accounts and delivering significant business growth.
- Experience managing large accounts such as PEMEX, CFE, or equivalent industrial customers.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing commercial teams.
- Solid understanding of automation, electrification, digitalization, and industrial solutions.
- Knowledge of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- P&L management and monitoring experience is a plus.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Availability to travel up to 40% within Mexico and occasionally internationally.
- Professional proficiency in English and native-level Spanish.
