Automation Project Manager that is a subject matter expert for common mechanical or electrical utility systems across a network of manufacturing or production facilities. Using his/her SME knowledge, provide effective counsel to solve short term problems, provide input to help define scope and investment requirements for larger capital projects, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of toolbox elements to decrease demand on human and capital resources required to drive successful outcomes.

  • Proactive communication style to all cross functional groups and individuals within Altium Packaging, recognizing that communication is effective only when the sender and the receiver both own the responsibility for delivery of accurate and timely messages
  • Execute Altium Packaging strategies and specific activities to positively impact safety culture while employing improvements to reduce risk and safety issues
  • Provide counsel on all knowledge areas thru above stated standards and/or direct support for situations different than these typical standards/exceptions
  • Responsible for assigned projects and day-to-day support of plant utility and infrastructure systems across entire network of Altium Packaging Plants
  • Provide technical support to Plant Operations and Capital Project Managers regarding plant utility and infrastructure systems
  • Respond to calls for assistance from Plant Operations and lead the discovery effort to develop written goals and objectives that resolve the needs
  • Develop and execute capital projects that accomplish stated goals and objectives within the plant infrastructure and utility disciplines, with optimized execution plans that minimize overall timeline and yield highest possible ROI
  • Assess and improve current tools within the Plant Engineering toolbox to provide world class support and to drive results that lead to dependable utility and infrastructure systems across Altium Packaging’s network
  • Develop, rollout, and maintain suitable Technical Standards (infrastructure, systems, electrical, etc.) as they apply to Altium Packaging’s utility and infrastructure systems for Altium Packaging to employ in all plants/systems
  • Lead upwards to drive alignment and support throughout Altium Packaging’s organization as required to accomplish group’s goals and objectives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Degreed Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
  • 3-6 yrs experience working for a national manufacturing or production operation
  • Strong technical understanding of plant utility systems.
  • An Electrical Engineer will have demonstrated technical understanding of power distribution systems and Arc Flash compliance within a manufacturing or production facility
  • A Mechanical Engineer will have demonstrated technical understanding of compressed air systems, chilled water systems, cooling tower systems, water treatment systems, and HVAC systems within a manufacturing or production facility
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities, while keeping past commitments or obtaining concise understanding past commitments will be affected by new priorities
  • Strong user of Microsoft Office suite, with particular strength in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of AutoCAD drafting software and Microsoft Project scheduling software
  • Experience in directing, leading, and influencing a cross-functional team of technical and non-technical professionals
