Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Guadalajara, North.
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, Automation role will be responsible for designing, testing, and optimizing automated systems in various mechanical and digital environments to help and improve processes, save costs, and achieve better outcome of design, product, and processes, eliminating defects, errors, and problems with product, process, or software development.
What a typical day looks like:
- Design, program, and modify automation systems in PLC and HMI for production equipment.
- Implement control logic, sequences, interlocks, and fault diagnostics.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and industrial devices.
- Programming, integration, and commissioning of industrial robots (6-axis, SCARA, cobots).
- Optimization of cycles, paths, and applications (pick & place, screwdriving, dispensing, etc.).
- Technical implementation of automation projects.
- Perform commissioning, debugging, and ramp-up of automated equipment.
- Develop technical documentation (manuals, SOW, troubleshooting).
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.
- Senior background experience in automation engineering.
- Technical Knowledge:
- PLC (programming and integration).
- Industrial pneumatics.
- Electrical and electronic control.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT/PCBA).
- Use of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
- Also a plus: Integration with MES / traceability, Experience with robotics / vision systems, Knowledge of industrial safety standards, Lean / continuous improvement, Programming / software (C/C++/Python, etc.), Databases (MySQL/MSSQL), 3D CAD design (SolidWorks, Inventor, or others).
