You will play a pivotal role in our team by supporting, improving, and identifying the need for automation solutions—including improvement programming of PLCs, robotics, machine vision, data acquisition, and custom program tools—to elevate manufacturing capability, quality, consistency, safety, and throughput. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are robust and manufacturable. You will also play a key role in mentoring teammates and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a company committed to innovation, safety, and Associate ownership. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values your contributions and encourages professional growth.

As an Automation Electrical Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will:

  • Support, debug, and optimize control logic, motion control, HMI interfaces, and safety systems.

  • Support and improve custom automation tools, scripts, and data‑processing utilities using languages like Python and Microsoft Excel Visual Basic.

  • Advanced troubleshooting of sensors, cameras, servo drives, and other advanced automation hardware in production and test equipment.

  • Evaluate manufacturability of new designs and collaborate with design engineers to optimize DFMA.

  • Create test plans, analyze results, and implement improvements using statistical and data-driven methods.

  • Provide training and mentorship to production teams.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage change through EC processes.

Who you are and what you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, with experience in industrial automation, robotics, machine vision, or automated manufacturing systems.

  • Strong background in automation hardware integration, including sensors, actuators, drives, servo systems, robotics, and machine‑vision platforms such as Cognex or Keyence.

  • Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts (ladder logic, function blocks, safety logic) and experience developing automation or data‑processing tools in Python, VBA, or similar languages.

  • Understanding of process‑control tools such as SPC, control charts, capability indices, DOE, and experience with Power BI or comparable tools for dashboards and manufacturing analytics.

  • A strong problem‑solving mindset with Lean, DMAIC, or 8D experience; ability to learn quickly, work hands‑on in production environments, and maintain clear, organized documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with servo systems, VFDs, communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfNet, Modbus), PC‑based automation, and data acquisition hardware.

  • Familiarity with MES systems, production data analytics, and quality monitoring tools.
