Provide subject-matter expertise in U.S. auto insurance litigation to inform product development and client solutions. Work with insurers and cross-functional teams to translate litigation practices into scalable workflows, analyze case trends, and support litigation strategy and high-volume case management.
Summary Generated by Built In

Our client, Latin America's first AI unicorn, backed by Founders Fund and Sequoia, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist in its search for an Auto Insurance Litigation Attorney. The company builds software that helps businesses manage high volumes of individual litigation by gathering evidence, detecting fraud, supporting litigation strategy, and helping generate responses. As the company expands its work with leading U.S. auto insurers, it is looking to add an experienced insurance litigator to its growing U.S. legal team.

This attorney will bring practical, hands-on auto insurance litigation expertise into the company's work with clients and product teams. The role is particularly well suited for a litigator who understands how auto insurance cases are handled day to day and is interested in applying that knowledge in a technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject-matter resource on U.S. auto insurance litigation, bringing practical knowledge of claims, litigation strategy, case workflows, and defense practices.
  • Work directly with insurance clients and their legal teams to understand litigation processes, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve the management of high-volume matters.
  • Help translate real-world auto insurance litigation practices into scalable workflows, templates, and legal content for the company's technology platform.
  • Analyze case patterns, litigation strategies, outcomes, and other trends to help inform product development and client solutions.
  • Partner closely with the company's legal, product, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure the platform reflects how insurance litigation works in practice.
  • Help deepen the company's understanding of the U.S. insurance litigation market as it expands its relationships with major insurance carriers.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on litigator who has spent a meaningful portion of their career defending auto insurance matters and understands the realities of managing a high volume of cases. Strong candidates will bring:

  • 4+ years of litigation experience, with meaningful hands-on experience defending auto insurance matters.
  • Experience representing multiple insurance carriers and/or handling matters across multiple jurisdictions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with major auto insurers such as Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, GEICO, or similar carriers is particularly relevant.
  • Broader insurance defense experience may also be considered, with a strong preference for substantial auto-related work.
  • Experience managing cases through the litigation lifecycle, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, settlement strategy, and other substantive aspects of insurance defense.
  • Strong litigation, writing, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate litigation experience into practical business and product insights.
  • A strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • A J.D. and active U.S. bar membership.

This is an opportunity for an experienced insurance litigator to move beyond handling individual cases and use their expertise to help shape technology designed to transform the way high-volume litigation is managed. The company offers the opportunity to work closely with a highly entrepreneurial team at the intersection of litigation, insurance, and AI. Compensation will include a base salary of $200,000 to $250,000 plus bonus and equity.

Solutus Legal Search has been exclusively retained for this search. Resumes submitted directly to our client will be forwarded to Solutus for review and evaluation. Given the anticipated volume of applicants, we will only respond directly to applicants whose background aligns with our client's hiring criteria. We appreciate your understanding.
