Description
The Director of Internal Audit - Global Professional Practices - Audit Quality & Workforce Management is a highly skilled and experienced leader who will evolve the end-to-end quality assurance and improvement program in accordance with the revised Global Institute of Internal Audit standards and leading industry practices. He/she will also partner with Human Resources to tailor and implement talent-related capabilities, including learning and development and skills assessments. The Director reports directly to the Head of Internal Audit - Global Professional Practices.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Quality
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure the highest standards in audit processes and outputs.
- Implement ongoing quality monitoring systems to continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of audit practices.
- Develop and execute quality assurance and improvement programs to enhance audit performance and compliance.
- Conduct assessments of auditor experience to identify areas for continuous improvement and opportunities to raise the bar.
- Collect and analyze feedback on audit engagements to derive insights for improvements and opportunities to enhance partnership with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage external quality assessments to benchmark performance against industry standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and lead strategic remediation initiatives to address any gaps or deficiencies identified in audit practices.
Workforce Management
- Roles & Responsibilities Framework: Maintain a current and comprehensive roles and responsibilities framework to clearly define expectations for different audit roles.
- New Hire Onboarding: Enhance the new hire onboarding process to provide new audit associates are effectively integrated into the team and equipped with access to the necessary information and knowledge.
- Skills Assessments: Conduct skills assessments to evaluate the competency levels of audit associates and baseline against the needs of the department to identify areas for development.
- Learning & Development: Promote continuous professional development by providing access to relevant training programs, workshops, and learning resources.
In this capacity, the Director will collaborate closely with the IA Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to understand and empathize with the needs of various regional and functional audit teams, ideate and socialize changes to influence buy-in prior to implementation of expanded programs, and effectively evaluate experiences of auditors at all levels and locations to ensure that IA's Quality and Workforce programs achieve the intended benefits for the individuals as well as the global department. Regular meetings with industry peers will keep the Director current on leading practices. The Director will oversee a team of experienced auditors to perform QAIP reviews and report results, execute skills gap assessments, gather and analyze data for insights, organize training schedule, and develop and evaluate training content.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate must be an audit leader with deep experience in audit quality standards and management frameworks; proficient in using data to monitor, measure, and inform decisions; skilled at translating quality gaps into training needs and solutions; and possess an appreciation for auditor aspirations and strategies to support their progression.
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
