This is an opportunity to step beyond traditional claims handling and build broader influence across the function. You’ll work closely with claims teams, leaders, and clients to drive technical improvement, support capability development, and help shape a culture centred on learning, coaching, and continuous improvement.
The role combines technical leadership with oversight responsibility and continued direct involvement in claims handling through a small caseload. You’ll lead technical audits, file quality reviews and case assessments across liability claims handling activity, identifying technical trends, governance risks, and development opportunities to support continuous improvement and operational performance.
You’ll deliver clear coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback to claims colleagues and leadership teams, while supporting the design and delivery of technical training, best practice frameworks, and guidance materials across the business.
You’ll also act as a senior technical referral point on complex, litigated, and high-value liability claims matters, managing quality oversight activity across key client accounts while maintaining a small caseload to retain hands-on involvement in claims handling and technical decision making.

The skills you will have when you apply:Significant liability claims handling experience with strong technical expertise across EL, PL, Products Liability, and property-related claims
Experience completing technical audits and quality reviews within a claims environment
Strong analytical capability, decision-making skills, and the ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills, with experience delivering technical feedback and guidance
Proven ability to influence technical standards, support capability development, and drive quality improvement initiatives
Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, and customer outcome requirements relevant to liability claims handling
