Who we are
With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.
What We Need
Symbotic is seeking an Atlassian Administrator to support the configuration, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Jira Cloud platform for Software Engineering. In this role, you will ensure our engineering and operational teams can effectively plan, track, and deliver work through well-structured workflows, standardized processes, and scalable project configurations.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, and the core Atlassian Admin team to maintain Jira workflows, reporting structures, and platform standards that support consistent ways of working across the organization. Beyond day-to-day administration, you will monitor platform usage, identify process drift, and provide guidance to help teams align with established practices.
What We Do
The team drives the operational foundation, and delivery standards that power Symbotic’s software organization. Operating at the intersection of complex robotic automation, large-scale systems engineering, and modern software practices, our mission is to establish repeatable planning processes, drive operational governance, and provide accurate cross-functional visibility into engineering execution and delivery timelines.
As we continue to scale our engineering footprint, we are building a standardized, data-driven Jira environment—aligning multi-disciplinary engineering teams into structured team spaces, establishing multi-tier program hierarchies, and automating routine workflows through custom Atlassian Rovo Agents and enterprise integrations. By unifying planning, roadmap execution, and real-time delivery metrics, we empower software teams to ship faster, collaborate seamlessly, and provide clear visibility to leadership without reliance on manual tracking or disparate tools.
What you’ll do
Administer, configure, and maintain Jira Cloud projects, custom workflows, issue types, custom fields, and permission schemes to support engineering teams.
Partner with Engineering Leadership and Program Management to translate complex engineering process requirements into scalable Jira workflows and reporting solutions.
Audit Jira configurations, workflow adoption, and data quality to identify process drift, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with established engineering standards.
Build and maintain boards, dashboards, and Jira Plans to deliver program tracking, release visibility, and cross-functional roadmap alignment.
Design, build, and deploy custom Atlassian Rovo Agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integrations to automate ticket triage, draft acceptance criteria, sync contextual data across external tools, and optimize engineering workflows.
Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Jira Cloud and enterprise platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, GitHub/GitLab).
Provide day-to-day tier-2/3 user support and troubleshooting for software engineering teams.
Document configuration changes, administrative guidelines, and end-user best practices.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Jira Cloud administration experience, including advanced workflow creation, JQL, automation rules, and scheme management.
Strong experience architecting cross-functional workflows and leveraging Jira Plans for multi-stakeholder roadmap planning and tracking.
Proficiency in creating dashboards, reporting structures, and metrics that provide clear visibility into engineering execution and delivery progress.
Hands-on experience configuring AI-driven workflow automations using Atlassian Rovo or connecting external LLM agents to Jira/Confluence via MCP APIs.
Experience configuring and supporting integrations between Jira Cloud and external enterprise systems.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) designation (e.g., Jira Cloud Administrator) is a plus.
