Job Purpose: The Site Head is responsible for overseeing all aspects of iron ore mining operations at the site, ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and close collaboration with engineering and production teams to meet production targets and drive continuous improvement. The Site Head ensures that all activities are aligned with the overall business objectives and are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning, and Governance:
- Formulate and implement the Techno-Commercial strategy and plan at BU level to align with the Chairman’s vision and CPO guidelines.
- Design the BU Techno-Commercial function structure and team organization at BU and Site levels to ensure alignment with business strategy and organizational principles.
- Define and implement SOPs and guidelines for BU-specific Techno-Commercial processes to ensure standardized and efficient operations.
- Monitor adherence to governance protocols, report on KPIs, and ensure compliance with audit & risk management processes to maintain process integrity and address gaps.
Core Procurement Activities
- Oversee procurement plans and strategic sourcing for Common and BU-specific CapEx, OpEx & Services to ensure optimal vendor selection and procurement efficiency.
- Approve sourcing channels and plans, and lead vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract preparation to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
- Review and approve contract documents for selected vendors to ensure clear and enforceable agreements.
- Ensure timely and accurate order placement and manage post-order activities to maintain supply chain efficiency.
Supplier Management:
- Govern vendor performance management mechanisms and evaluations for BU-specific vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
- Ensure vendor performance is evaluated and feedback is communicated effectively to foster continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships and engagement mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and long-term benefits.
Data Management and Logistics:
- Spearhead data analysis for BU-specific procurement activities to identify efficiency and value improvement opportunities.
- Oversee inventory control, logistics planning, and third-party agency selection to ensure effective material management and cost-effective operations.
People Management:
- Implement the Techno-Commercial organization structure and formulate manpower plans to meet current and future talent requirements.
- Drive talent acquisition, performance management, and capability development initiatives to build a competent and motivated Techno-Commercial team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and engagement initiatives to promote a positive work environment and continuous improvement.
Technology and IT Enablement:
- Identify technology enablement/automation requirements for Techno-Commercial processes to enhance efficiency.
- Spearhead the adoption of advanced digital tools and technologies to enhance overall operational efficiency and drive innovation in TCD operations.
- Drive development and implementation of BU-specific Techno-Commercial IT applications and platforms to improve process efficiency and standardize procurement solutions across BUs.
