About the role:

MUFG is a leading international bank in the Oceania market.  Due to recent success and continued growth in our business, we are seeking applications for multiple roles at various levels. The roles are part of the broader Corporate & Institutional Solutions FX Sales team, based in Sydney. 

The Sydney based Associate / Vice President role will provide customer FX solutions, handle all FX flow dealing directly, and assist broader Oceania FX team with client coverage and administration.  The roles’ focus will be across MUFG’s Corporate, Institutional & Global Subsidiary customer facing business unit.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying opportunities and leading client dialogue that leverage MUFG’s capabilities across all Foreign Exchange products

  • Leveraging existing client relationships whilst building and developing new client streams for FX

  • Collaborating and building partnerships by promoting Oceania Foreign Exchange capabilities to internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrating a superior understanding of the requirements of all MUFG’s Oceania FX client base across significantly differing levels of customer sophistication 

  • Managing and developing relationships with transactional clients including those serviced over e-platforms for flow-based business

  • Organising and coordinating client meetings including regular business travel requirements

  • Assisting senior team members in their origination, structuring and execution activities

  • Helping drive efficiency and process improvements

  • Working hours flexibility to meet the demands of the business.  Early (NZ hours) or late (WA / Asia / London) market time zone hours specifically required as directed

  • Regional reporting related tasks

Key areas of accountability:

  • Direct client FX dealing and coverage

  • Accountability to deliver on budget and other KPI targets

  • Strongest levels of integrity and compliance with FX Code of Conduct

  • Strong financial market knowledge and understanding

  • Efficient and accurate market dealing across various channels / execution services

  • Delivering superior customer experiences by developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with both new and existing customers

  • Strong technical ability to be able to price and structure increasingly sophisticated hedging solutions

  • Demonstrate superior communication skills and be a strong team player

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics / Business related field

  • Demonstrated and proven experience (2y+ for Associate and 5y+ for VP) of building and growing a successful client portfolio in a bank for FX / derivative products in AUS / NZ

  • AFMA Accreditation preferred, or desire to obtain

  • Strong numerical skills and attention to details are a must have

  • Strong FX option pricing experience and understanding

  • Ideally an understanding of interest rate products, pricing and theory

  • Superior communication skills and strong team player

  • Spreadsheet Excel / PowerPoint skills, research and analytical skills

  • High level of self-motivation and integrity standards
