Position Summary: The Associate Technical Designer, Men's role supports the development of high-quality products from design handoff through production. This role creates tech packs, manages fit and construction standards, partners with vendors on product execution, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure garments meet brand expectations for quality, fit, and aesthetic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create / Develop detailed Tech Packs to factories/vendors, ensuring precise communication of design, construction, workmanship, and quality control specifications.
Execute initial styles from design handoff through production to meet required aesthetic following sketches and/or original samples.
Measure & examine samples with specifications against requests at all stages to prepare for scheduled fittings.
In effective collaboration with peer teams, supervisor and vendor, provides technical direction on matters pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment within company calendar deadline.
Ensuring that all products conform to the company standard and brand values, aiming high-end quality.
Ensure grading, fit consistency, and key measurement standard across all styles and product categories.
Participate in weekly fit sessions. Collaborate with designers and merchants to translate fit and aesthetic details.
Anticipate and resolve any problems with the fit process. Partner with vendors in the resolution of problems as necessary.
Work closely with Technical Design leaders to enhance and evolve processes and procedures, as business evolves, while driving to elevate the quality of the product.
Work with Vendor partners to translate design intent into prototype samples
Provide fit comments with pattern corrections, illustration sketches and construction feedback to confirm fit and design intent.
Conduct the risk assessment process with Production team to mitigate risk in bulk production.
Execution of approving construction samples, mockups and bulk swatch/production.
Perform other technical design related duties, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
3 - 5 years of experience in Technical Design.
Bachelor's degree in Technical Design / Fashion Design.
Extensive Patternmaking and Draping skills with Knowledge of garment construction.
Contemporary / high end brand experience is preferred.
Menswear experience is preferred.
Proficient in Gerber Accumark.
Knowledge of POM.
Highly proficient in Google software, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and PLM.
