JBoss Quality Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Quality Engineer to join our team in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of quality for JBoss EAP - the market-leading, cloud-friendly fully certified Jakarta EE application server based on open source project WildFly (source code).
As an Associate Software Quality Engineer, you will gain a deep understanding of various aspects of complex Java technologies in OpenShift/Kubernetes environment such as Eclipse Microprofile, Java Message Service, Java Persistence, Java Transaction, Contexts and Dependency Injection etc. This position is a great opportunity to make a difference in building the next generation of open source Java middleware, by working on products used by people all over the world. What you will do

Design, develop and maintain automated test suites in Java and test environments for Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform

Continuously improve your deep understanding of Enterprise Java platform technologies and Openshift/Kubernetes platform

Conduct in-depth analysis of root causes of problems

Act as an internal advocate for our customers

Document new bugs and advocate their resolution and fixes with developers

Communicate the impact of these bugs to customers through developers and support

Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
What you will bring

Practical experience with Java SE
-
Experience with Maven or Git
-
Experience with Linux or another UNIX-like operating system
-
Ability to think out of the box and adapt to change
-
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus

Experience with Java EE, JakartaEE, MicroProfile or Spring development

Experience with testing (Junit, TestNG) at least on unit-test level

Experience in debugging and performance tuning

Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
