About this role
SpiderRock Advisors (SRA) is seeking a talented Investment Research Analyst to support work in quantitative financial analysis and the development of reports and analytics for commercial initiatives. The role requires coding skills and specialized expertise in options, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functional teams.
Key Responsibilities- Research, develop, and implement quantitative analytics for private wealth management.
- Collaborate on cross-functional baisis with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Management, and Software Engineering teams to create and enhance processes.
- Support the Investment Committee (IC) with research reports, analytics, KPIs, and dashboards.
- Assist Portfolio Managers and clients with thought leadership, client-facing materials and resources, and educational initiatives.
- Develop and maintain investment tools, processes, and reports.
- Conduct sophisticated financial analyses and identify innovative solutions.
- 4+ years of investment experience. Advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred.
- Strong quantitative skills in data analytics and statistical methods.
- Proficiency in Python or R coding languages.
- Two or more years working with equity and index options preferred.
- Ability to apply financial theory and economic intuition to empirical investment analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly regarding technical subjects.
- Ability to master and adapt academic and practitioner research in financial economics and investments.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience with, or willingness to use, AI to accelerate output.
- Proven ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a similar field
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- 3 or more years of experience with Python programming
- Familiarity with order management and trading systems
- Experience with large data sets using SQL
- Experience with algorithmic trading features
- Knowledge of business intelligence software (AWS QuickSight)
- Strong familiarity with MS Office suite
