Associate Scientist, High-Throughput Experimentation Operations

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Scientist to join our High-Throughput Experimentation (HTE) Operations team. In this role, you will be essential to our research operations by managing high-volume solid reagent dispensing to support compound library production. This position is ideal for recent graduates or professionals seeking a structured laboratory role where precision and consistency are paramount. This job is based in our San Diego headquarters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Locate and retrieve chemistry reagents from inventory for daily dispensing operations

• Execute high-precision dispensing of approximately 300-400 solid samples weekly using analytical balances, maintaining strict quality control standards

• Prepare solid samples for internal research teams and external collaboration partners

• Receive, inventory, and organize chemistry reagents according to safety protocols and proper segregation requirements

• Maintain the reagent database by uploading and updating safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals, ensuring OSHA compliance

• Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves when handling chemicals and operating equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field

• Hands-on laboratory experience in academic or industrial settings

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail—essential for high-volume, repetitive precision work

• Strong time management abilities to efficiently process 60-80 samples daily while meeting quality standards

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams

• Ability to follow detailed protocols consistently while maintaining focus during repetitive tasks

• Comfortable with the repetitive nature of the work and committed to maintaining accuracy throughout
