Associate Risk Analyst
Position Description
Overview of the Position
Join the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department at the Hartford, which is responsible for an independent assessment of the risk profile of the firm. ERM analyzes a multitude of risks including investment, operational and insurance to mitigate unexpected losses while helping grow our business.
This role will be a member of Asset/Liability Management (ALM) team within ERM. As part of this role the individual will work on the Risk Reporting team within ALM that is responsible for the daily enterprise Market Risk portal and the production of the monthly Executive Risk Dashboard. Key responsibilities will include daily production of enterprise market risk reports, ongoing support of monthly/quarterly production cycles for the Executive Risk Dashboard, analysis of change in key risk metrics, and facilitating the review of the Executive Risk Dashboard with key stakeholders.
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Analyze and publish daily Market Risk Portal (Tableau) which includes enterprise economic mark-to-market of the company’s balance sheet, Historical Value at Risk (HVaR) and Risk Monitors
- Coordinate with key input providers for Market Risk stress test exposures in accordance to the Company’s Risk Appetite
- Assist in facilitating the Market Risk Dashboard monthly review
- Collaborate with input providers across the enterprise on a monthly basis to create the Executive Risk Dashboard for various market, insurance and operational risk metrics
- Maintain team SharePoint site, including documents and calendar
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as requested
- Continuously improve production process efficiencies and controls
Experience & Skills
The successful candidate for this position will have a combination of risk and financial reporting skills. A successful candidate will be inquisitive, analytical, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or other related degree program
- 1-3+ years of experience in risk/financial reporting
- Working knowledge of financial markets
- Strong quantitative, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and SharePoint skills
- TM1 working knowledge preferred
- Ability to work both independently and in a team settings, shift priorities and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities through team effort, initiative, customer service and integrity
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$64,240 - $96,360
