Job Description:
Hitachi Rail STS USA is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated "Associate Quality Assurance/Quality Control Coordinator" who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position is based in Toronto, Canada.
Accountabilities:
Responsible for the coordination of assigned Quality Assurance / Quality Control activities for the Ontario Line ( RSSOM) project. As the on-site Associate QA/QC Coordinator, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Reporting directly to the on-site Connect 6ix Design and Build Joint Venture Quality Team for all quality activities;
- Interfacing with the Project Quality Organization and program level team, as well as subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure the proper execution of the project in accordance with applicable planning documents and contractual requirements;
- Supporting the unified approach to quality between all subcontractors and the program level organization including the integration of the systems from a quality assurance perspective;
- Supporting the creation and/or update of all Program quality planning documents;
- Providing administrative support (e.g., documenting Minutes of Meeting, ensuring storage and control of Quality documents and records, etc.)
- Witnessing inspections/testing of various systems, subsystems or products including First Article Inspections supporting engineering, as assigned by the QA Manager;
- Support the data collection, analysis, and reporting of various project metrics and KPI’s, and support the corrective action process when targets are not met;
- Assist in recording and tracking NCRs in the system.
- Follow up with relevant teams for updates on NCR status.
- Help collect and organize documentation related to non conformances.
- Support in preparing basic reports on NCRs trends.
- Ensure records are updated and maintained correctly.
- Keep track of pending items from audits, inspections or reports.
- Regularly check in with teams to get updates on open items.
- Document progress and escalate overdue items when necessary.
- Help organize reminders for pending action items.
- Communicate updates to the relevant project teams.
- Perform Quality Assurance visits to on-site and off-site project areas on an as-needed basis.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with company procedures.
- Learn and follow established NCR and quality processes.
- Support the team in other tasks as needed.
Supporting ongoing maintenance of an on-site Quality Assurance program based upon the contract requirements and the STS Global Business Management System.
Required Skills:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a Project Quality Assurance / Quality Control environment;
- ISO 9001:2015 awareness
- Experience with MS office tools – suite;
- Must be fluent in English; Italian, French, or Japanese language skills a plus;
- Experience in working with Quality Management Systems;
- Good communication skills in relaying technical information via verbal or written communication;
- Team player;
- Attention to Detail;
- Good problem solving skills.
Desired Skills and Experience :
- 2 years of experience in a project environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field.
- ISO 9001:2015 implementation experience.
- Experience in Quality Management within the rail or transit industry;
- Experience auditing systems, processes, products both internally and externally;
- Fluent in English with other languages a plus.
Education :
Bachelors/ Diploma from reputed Universities.
Languages:
Written and verbal English communication skills
> Clear Background (Criminal) Check.
