Position Summary

Essential Job Functions

AI-Powered Game Testing

  • Design and execute AI-assisted test strategies for Electronic Gaming Machine titles, covering game math validation, reel logic, bonus feature testing, pay table verification, progressive jackpots, and multi-level feature sets.
  • Use Claude by Anthropic or other LLM tools hands-on to generate comprehensive game test cases, analyse game rules documentation, identify edge cases in feature specifications, and validate Help & Pay content for accuracy and completeness.
  • Apply AI tools to automate repetitive game testing tasks, including language and translation verification, regulatory content checks, and game rules comparison across jurisdictions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted defect analysis to identify patterns across defect logs, prioritize high-risk areas, and provide actionable insights to development and maths teams.
  • Experiment with and evaluate emerging AI testing techniques — including computer vision for UI regression, LLM-driven exploratory testing, and AI-assisted math outcome simulation — assessing their applicability to EGM game testing workflows.

Test Automation Development

  • Write, maintain, and extend automated test frameworks and scripts for game feature validation, with a focus on practical, maintainable code that the broader SQA team can adopt and build upon.
  • Integrate AI-generated test artefacts (test cases, scripts, data sets) into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automated tests execute reliably across game builds and GDK platform versions.
  • Build automation solutions targeting the full game testing lifecycle: smoke testing, functional test cycles (FTC), regression, performance, memory, and lab certification readiness.
  • Develop and maintain shared automation libraries and prompt templates that enable the wider SQA team to leverage AI tools in their day-to-day game testing work without requiring deep AI expertise.

Quality Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the AI testing subject matter expert within the APAC SQA team, coaching and mentoring team members on how to effectively use AI tools in game testing workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with game developers, maths engineers, compliance, and project managers to embed shift-left quality practices — identifying and resolving issues earlier in the development cycle before they reach FTC or lab submission.
  • Lead technical and use case review sessions for new game features, identifying automation and AI opportunities early in the feature lifecycle.
  • Define AI testing objectives, metrics, and roadmaps for game QA automation, communicating progress and outcomes to SQA management and technical leadership.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of SQA processes, checklists, and tooling in alignment with the Winning Ways engineering standards and quality frameworks.
  • Manage complex defects and incidents arising from game testing, facilitating triage sessions with development teams and driving resolution.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools —Claude / ChatGPT /Microsoft Co-pilot/GitHub Copilot/Google Gemini— in a software testing or development context. Ability to demonstrate practical use cases.  Highly Regarded
  • Proven game testing experience using AI. Deep familiarity with game features, game math concepts, and regulatory compliance testing.  Highly Regarded
  • Strong software development skills with the ability to write, read, and maintain automation scripts and test frameworks (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of QA automation principles, test framework architecture, and CI/CD integration.
  • Experience with prompt engineering — designing effective prompts for LLMs to generate test cases, review documentation, and assist with defect analysis in a structured, repeatable way.
  • Familiarity with game testing concepts: reel strip validation, pay table verification, bonus feature logic, RTP testing, Help & Pay content, and language/translation testing.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance testing requirements in gaming jurisdictions (Australian or international).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain AI-driven testing approaches clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of software testing experience, with at least 1 year in a hands-on automation or development capacity.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude by Anthropic highly regarded) in a professional software testing or QA engineering context. Candidates should be prepared to discuss or demonstrate specific use cases.  Highly Regarded
  • Experience building or contributing to test automation frameworks, including script development, framework setup, and pipeline integration.
  • Experience working in agile or iterative development environments, collaborating across QA, development, product, and compliance functions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Practical, hands-on knowledge of AI-assisted testing workflows: prompt engineering for test case design, LLM-powered defect triage, AI-generated game rules review, and translation/localisation validation.
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages used in test automation (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) and integrating automated tests into build pipelines.
  • Understanding of software QA methodologies: functional testing, regression, exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and shift-left principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex game defects, identify root causes, and communicate findings to development teams clearly.
  • Results-oriented with strong time management, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent game projects.
  • Collaborative team player with a growth mindset, open to learning new AI tools and testing approaches as they emerge.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent practical experience in software development, QA engineering, or AI-assisted testing will be considered.

Work Conditions

  • Based in Sydney, Australia. Some flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
