The Associate Project Manager, Employee Benefits Communications, supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of benefits communication projects for employer clients. Working under the guidance of senior project managers, this role helps ensure that employee-facing materials are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned to client expectations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing project timelines, task lists, and deliverable tracking across multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (writers, designers, account managers) to move projects through production workflows.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for routine client communications and status updates.
  • Maintain project management tools and dashboards so they reflect the current status, open items, and upcoming deadlines.
  • Schedule and facilitate kickoff calls, review meetings, and internal check-ins; document action items and distribute notes.
  • Track client feedback and revision rounds, ensuring changes are routed to the correct team members.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of project templates, timelines, and process documentation.
  • Flag risks, delays, or scope changes to the supervising project manager promptly.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients by organizing intake documentation and establishing project folders and workflows.
  • Contribute to quality-control reviews of deliverables prior to client submission.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in an administrative, implementation, project coordination, or communications role.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under a deadline.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
  • Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
  • Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
  • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions

Skills Required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP, PgMP, Agile, etc.) certification
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  • Five or more years of employee benefits, insurance experience, and customer service
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with PPM software tool
  • Proven experience and knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Proficient in process improvement and development practices
  • Experience with business case preparation, cost benefit analysis and project execution
  • Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies
