We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial and quantitatively minded product manager for our software business in Australia. Please note that this role is based in our Sydney office. Together with software leadership in Sydney, Melbourne and Oxford, you will own our Australia software product strategy and drive its execution. You will understand the needs of our external and internal software customers and closely engage with our technical teams to design and deliver solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- You will play a key role in defining the vision and strategy for our software platform in the Australia market (NEM and WEM) and contribute to our APAC strategy.
- You will build and maintain the regional roadmap for all Australian software products making key decisions on feature prioritisation in line with product vision and strategy.
- You will own and manage a structured backlog of user needs and feature ideas.
- You will define requirements for UI and modelling features of our Australia software, and work with Aurora’s technical teams to design solutions meeting these requirements.
- You will play a leading role in a cross-functional team of highly skilled software engineers, product managers, modellers, research and advisory analysts, commercial (sales) and client solutions representatives in continuous product delivery.
- You will develop and manage client relationships, develop in-depth understanding of client requirements, and manage user feedback.
- You will build relationships with software stakeholders across our offices in APAC and Oxford, fostering positive working culture and providing mentorship and development opportunities for the team.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience at a consultancy, energy company, software company, financial services company, or other knowledge-focused firm or institution
- Good understanding of energy markets - you don’t need to have experience in energy, but you should demonstrate your knowledge of the sector
- Proven track record of successfully managing large complex projects or products that require significant cross-functional coordination
- Excellent communication and analytical skills (including quantitative analysis), and attention to detail
- Results-driven, with a high degree of persistence in reaching goals and a hands-on approach to ensuring targets are achieved
- Good understanding of power market models, and the life cycle and commercial arrangements of energy projects
- Track record of building stakeholder relationships across functions and countries
- A self-guided approach to investigating and solving technical problems
