Job Description

Allstate Investments manages approximately $75 billion of assets. This position is a hybrid role, meaning your schedule may consist of time in an office setting and time working remotely from your home. The hybrid model is intended to provide greater flexibility – and will mean something different to each team, job and employee. Office presence is driven by the nature of the work and team needs. You’ll work from home for the remainder of the time you’re not in the office. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.
This is a hybrid position in Chicago, IL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis used to support the underwriting of potential investment opportunities;
• Prepare internal memoranda and other materials used to support investment recommendations and to communicate with internal constituents;
• Assess the performance of existing investments, including financial analysis of the underlying portfolio companies of sponsors' funds;
• Evaluate market conditions in existing and potential new alternative investment categories. Provide information and analysis to develop and support asset allocation decisions related to these categories.
   

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This job does not have supervisory duties.
   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor’s degree is required; business related studies preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, leveraged lending, or principal investing.
   

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job.
   

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

• Proven ability to manage multiple investment-related projects in a time critical, transaction-oriented environment;
• Knowledge of, and ongoing interest in, current trends, success factors, participants and terms in private equity and related alternative investment markets;
• Demonstrated experience analyzing financial statements and developing financial models and/or completion of a strong credit training program;
• Strong knowledge of accounting and finance;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Eagerness to work hard in a team-oriented, performance-based environment;
• A self starter that requires limited oversight in the completion of individual projects;
• Very strong proficiency with Microsoft Office;
• Experience with Capital IQ or other M&A market data tools preferred.
