Main Accountabilities
Main tasks performed on a regular basis. Consider general responsibilities:
- Actively participate in development test methodologies for quality control evaluations of ingredients and stabilizer systems, and for evaluating potentially new ingredient supplies and technologies
- Serve as the liaison between TLFSA Applications, Quality Control, and Purchasing departments. The person in this position will also interact and share information frequently with raw material departments of other TLFS sites around the world, specifically liaising with Luebeck for raw material exchange coordination
- Evaluating and screening new materials and ingredient sources identified by Purchasing, other TLFS sites, or the Applications group to determine if the material is suitable for the specifically outlined needs
- Direct laboratory and pilot plant experimentation to verify ingredient functionalities
- Managing the raw material exchange work flow process for TLFSA
- Regular interfacing with Global T&L R&D team, importing formulas and technologies from other markets, adapting them for the US market, and exporting TLCI formulas and technologies to other T&L R&D groups.

Skills & Knowledge
Consider following requirements:
- BS in Food Science or Food Processing
- 5 to 10 years of analytical test methodology and ingredient functionality experience with knowledge of the effects of processing on ingredient and finished product attributes
- A strong knowledge of food chemistry, stabilizer, and emulsifier functionality
- Experience in analytical test methodologies and required equipment is strongly desired.
- Ability and willingness to work independently
- Willingness to work in a team environment, and share key learnings and experiences
- A curiosity to explore new ingredient applications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences ranging from highly scientific/technical to production / manufacturing to non-technical personnel and customers.
