Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Japanese Translator based in India to translate PowerPoint presentations, documents, and other written materials from English to Japanese and vice versa.The successful candidate will ensure that translations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and delivered on time to support our teams in communicating effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- PowerPoint presentations, documents, reports, and other written materials from Japanese to English and English to Japanese.
- Ensure that all translations are accurate, contextually relevant, and maintain the intended meaning and tone. -Work closely with team members across departments to understand specific translation requirements and project deadlines.
- Proofread and edit translations to ensure high quality and consistency with company terminology and style guidelines.
- Maintain updated glossaries and translation memory databases for ongoing and future projects.
- Support the localization of materials to align with the Japanese audience's cultural and linguistic nuances.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese and English with strong written communication skills in both languages.
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Japanese Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Japanese Translator, preferably with a focus on business or corporate materials (typically 2+ years).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Word.
- Familiarity with translation and localization tools (e.g., Trados, memoQ) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience translating presentations and business documents for specific industries (e.g., marketing, finance, or technology).
- Understanding of Japanese culture and business etiquette.
- Experience in legal (contract) writing with paralegal certification will be a bonus.
