Job Type:
PermanentBuild a brilliant future with Hiscox
The Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical role, supporting the reliability, security, and automation of our software delivery pipelines and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
This role combines the disciplines of DevOps (Automation & CI/CD) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Working closely with tech squad members (i.e. software and data engineers, and SDETs), you will help ensure our applications are secure by design, available, performant, and deployed through automated pipelines, using infrastructure-as-code principles across Azure and GCP environments and, where appropriate, on-premises too.
You will support other engineers to self-serve where possible by contributing to reusable templates, designs and components, and by sharing knowledge that helps improve platform engineering practices across the squad.
