As an Associate Platform Engineer, your work will have an impact on platform systems and business outcomes. You will build defined capabilities, investigate and fix bugs, write tests, communicate progress and identify blocking issues. You’ll be working with a team of driven, experienced platform engineers who enjoy proactively improving existing platform systems and supporting long-term operational stability. You’ll need to work well within a team, be eager to learn from others, and be motivated to share your experience and skills.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Platform engineering team builds the domain platforms for Arc’teryx mobile apps, arcteryx.com, customer service interfaces and our retail systems. We work with cross-functional agile squads to build and roll out new capabilities, improve performance, and build self-service tools for our developers to enable creating an amazing online experience for our guests. We do this through designing, building and supporting platforms to support our business needs. Using Agile software development practices, we keep our standards high, delivering high quality and deploying frequently

If you were in the Associate Platform Engineer role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Building defined platform capabilities, investigating and fixing bugs, and writing tests
  • Monitoring application and instrument logs and signals
  • Identifying blocking issues and participating in an on-call rotation
  • Pair programming with senior team members, contributing to code reviews, and learning from what you see
  • Communicating progress with your assigned team and manager
  • Contributing to technical documentation and participating in team ceremonies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Becoming autonomous in completing tasks from end to end and learning the Arc'teryx Leadership Code (Lead Self) to exhibit these values in daily work

  • Assisting in creating unified vision for systems within the team and ensuring integrations with existing systems
  • Establishing criteria for effective technical solutions and contribute to defining new product features under guidance
  • Participating in reviewing organizational practices and processes, providing feedback for continuous improvement
  • Supporting your team in aligning with cross-team goals and contributing to decision-making with available information and evidence
  • Working on developing prototypes that enable new tech ideas or innovations, following established guidelines and best practices

Are you our next Associate Platform Engineer?

  • You have 1+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role
  • You have experience using the Microsoft technical stack including .NET and C#
  • You have experience leveraging AI tooling to deliver technical solutions
  • You can develop a solid understanding of core programming fundamentals
  • You are dedicated to advancing your skills and growing as an engineer
  • You are excited to work with a team, learning the best practices of software engineering, including testing, source control, and agile planning
  • You are eager to focus on a specific product sub-area and achieve mastery in that domain
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

Compensation:

    The salary range for this role is CAD$82,000 - CAD$108,000

Skills Required

  • 1+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience with Microsoft technical stack including .NET and C#
