Your Role:

We are seeking a creative, highly organized event planner to help us execute memorable events that generate brand awareness, build business relationships, and boost employee morale. You will be responsible for conceptualizing ideas for the events, creating and enforcing budgets, coordinating with suppliers, communicating with clients, and ultimately ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed.

As the event planner, you should be an expert multitasker with impeccable attention to detail. The best individual for this role will have an extraordinary ability to predict risks and anticipate needs so that attendees are impressed and entirely satisfied by the time each event comes to an end.

Your Responsibilities:

  •  Independently provide consultative guidance to (internal and external) customers to define, develop, execute, and manage meeting strategy to achieve meeting goals and expectations.
  •  Provide meeting leadership and successful outcome expectations including, but not limited to, sourcing, attendee management, event management, cost proposals, budget reconciliations, program evaluations and post event wrap-up.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor detailed meeting budgets, control documents and financial data reports/analysis and provide monthly reporting to Senior Leadership.
  • Accountable for risk management associated with ensuring all aspects of meeting logistics are following company policies.
  • Provides meeting planning best practice and compliance training for Elanco employees responsible for planning and coordinating travel and local meetings.
  • Support special projects to support the overall corporate strategy, as requested. 
  •  Identify clients' requirements and expectations for each event. Brainstorm and implement event concepts and themes.
  • Developing post-event reports on the effectiveness of each event.
  • Mandate the company’s Travel, Expense, and guest attendee policies.
  • Adapts strategy to meet unique requirements in a multi-national meeting environment specific to cultural diversity, varying currencies, fluctuating political climates, language barriers and time zone differences.
  • Work proactively with the GTMS Sourcing Associate to ensure contractual saving opportunities. 

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree (Hospitality majors preferred) or HS Diploma/GED with relevant experience.
  • Required Experience: 2-4 years’ experience in event planning/management. Experience in project management with a track record of successful events. Able to effectively monitor event details, coordinate logistics, manage organizational compliance, and communicate effectively.  Experience with meeting budgets, travel and meeting tools, including Cvent, and Concur, and other relevant tools. 
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

  • Must demonstrate collaborative style with ability to recommend influence/ negotiate.
  • Must demonstrate excellent, confident interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Ability to lead a large team and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Financial savvy, with the ability to adhere to plan budgets and process invoices.

  • Location: Global Elanco Headquarters - Greenfield, IN - Hybrid Work Environment (New HQ Downtown Indianapolis, IN- October 2025)
  • Travel: Up to 50%
