Job Overview:
Provide expert consultancy to departments and project teams on material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies. Ensure technically sound and cost-effective solutions that maintain the integrity of materials used in subsurface and surface hydrocarbon production, processing, and transportation systems throughout their lifecycle. Conduct fracture mechanics evaluations and associated testing of weldments to ensure structural reliability and compliance with engineering standards
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Support the application of materials, welding, and coating knowledge for project deliverables.
• Collect, review, and interpret technical specifications from clients and relevant industry standards such as DNV, AWS, and API to ensure compliance in project deliverables.
• Assist in fracture mechanics assessments and perform basic weldment testing under supervision.
• Perform engineering assessments using FE modeling, ECA, and fracture mechanics tools; operate relevant software to run simulations and collect input data for analysis and reporting.
• Coordinate with relevant disciplines to support material design calculations, reports, and procedures under senior engineer guidance.
• Develop material selection reports and diagrams for offshore projects.
• Develop metallurgical specifications and ensure compliance with project standards and international codes (EN, API/DNV /AWS/ISO).
• Provide technical support on material selection, corrosion management, and welding engineering to ensure cost-effective and reliable solutions.
• Interface with multidisciplinary teams to integrate metallurgy requirements into designs and drawings.
• Maintain knowledge of welding processes, consumables, NDT techniques, and ensure proper storage and handling practices.
• Analyze weld repairs, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize rejections.
• Specify and control welding procedure variables; ensure accurate measurement and documentation.
• Support project management, Quality, HSE, and tendering teams with technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify underlying issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Interpret operational and installation load data to support design validation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Willing to travel to offshore vessels and onshore testing facilities as required to support project activities and qualification programs.

• Operationally: Senior Welding/NDE Engineer
• Functionally: Advanced Analysis Engineering Team
Liaises with:
• Engineering, Welding, NDE, PPG, Project Team, and Tendering Departments to ensure alignment and technical consistency.
Supervises:
• Not Applicable (Individual contributor role).
Essential Qualifications and Education:
• Master’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Materials, Corrosion Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• Hands-on experience with offshore oil and gas projects, specifically in materials and corrosion engineering.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• 1 or 2 years in the oil & gas industry.
• Material selection (metallic & non-metallic) and corrosion management.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, coating systems, cathodic protection, pipeline integrity, and NDT.
• ECA, fracture mechanics, FE modeling, and material testing per international standards.
• Ability to review engineering data across the project lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Dedicated to professional development through learning new tools, technologies, and best practices.
