The Role
Serves as a strategic finance partner to executive and sales leadership, using financial models, pro forma P&Ls, forecasting, compensation analysis, KPI dashboards, and scenario planning to guide profitability and resource-allocation decisions. The role challenges assumptions, identifies performance gaps, and makes data-driven recommendations in real time. It requires strong Excel skills, analytical judgment, independent thinking, and comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Summary Generated by Built In

The Associate Manager is a strategic partner embedded directly in C-suite and executive decision-making, not a reporting function that hands off analysis for others to act on. This role turns complex data into sharp performance insights, financial models, and strategic recommendations that drive measurable growth for assigned client accounts.

As a leader within the Analytics Department, you'll own executive-level performance analysis, pressure-test forecasting and compensation strategies, and work directly with business owners to close performance gaps and maximize profitability.  You'll move quickly, challenge assumptions, and influence high-impact decisions as they're being made.

The ideal candidate is exceptionally strong in Excel, highly analytical, and energized by fast-paced, high-accountability environments – someone who navigates ambiguity with confidence and leads through complex market dynamics with clarity and precision.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a standing strategic partner to C-suite and executive leadership, shaping decisions in real time rather than presenting findings after the fact

  • Drive commercial strategy across sales performance, profitability, forecasting, and compensation design — with direct accountability for the decisions your analysis informs

  • Build and maintain complex financial models, pro forma P&Ls, incentive structures, and scenario analyses to argue for or against specific strategic moves

  • Co-own strategic and financial decisions with sales leaders and business owners, weighing in on trade-offs, risk, and resource allocation before decisions are finalized

  • Develop executive-level reporting and KPI dashboards (Excel/Tableau) that anchor live executive discussions

  • Pressure-test leadership's assumptions and models, flagging issues early enough to change the decision

  • Act as a challenger in the room, pushing back on strategy, forecasts, and compensation decisions when the data suggests a different path, even when unpopular

  • Follow company guidelines and best practices for responsible AI use and data security

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support team and organizational priorities

What You'll Bring + Core Competencies:

Strategic Leadership & Influence: Operates as a peer to C-suite leadership, shaping decisions in real time and driving outcomes rather than just presenting options.

Critical & Independent Thinking: Challenges assumptions, pressure-tests models before they inform decisions, and surfaces contrarian views when the data supports them.

Business Ownership & Accountability: Takes direct accountability for the decisions their analysis informs; thinks and acts like an owner of account performance.

Bias for Action & Urgency: Proactively identifies opportunities and gaps without being asked; moves quickly and decisively with incomplete information.
